The

Regional Coordinators for Human Needs, Community Development and
Disaster Relief for Southern Baptists in Mexico, Central America,
Panama, and the Caribbean. Be watching for the upcoming web
site renovation. (Their former ministry is highlighted
here).
David,
Jo, Christy, and Casey Brown invite you to learn about their
missionary work in Guatemala. They are working
among the Poqomam, a Mayan people group in 4 different
geographical locations in Guatemala and El
Salvador. Their goal is to start churches in the
heart language of this people group that will result in new
reproducing churches.
Some
of the Poqomam are potters, utilizing a method of artistry that
is nearly a thousand years old. Some make hats from palm
leaves in a time honored process. Other Poqomames
demonstrate artistic prowess in furniture construction and
hand-made toys. They are a beautiful people, proud of their
heritage. Many
of these people have not experienced Jesus nor the Bible
with its
message of salvation and grace.
